LESLIE MOFFATT WARD RE SGA

(1888-1978)

A painter, etcher and lithographer of landscapes, coastal scenes and architectural subjects, Leslie Moffat Ward was born at Worcester and studied at Bournemouth Art School under A Lister Lobley, James Sparks and Henry Maudsley.  He won a gold medal in the National Competition School of Art 1909-10. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1915, and also at the RE, SGA, in the provinces and abroad.  He was elected ARE in 1916 and RE in 1936.
