Kenneth Moroney was born in on the 14th February 1949 to Anglo-Irish parents and was brought up in south London. Ken began to showed a aptitude for fine draughtsmanship early in his school life and by the time he completed his education at a secondary modern school, in northwest London he had already received recognition for his talent, winning a number of major art competitions.
Due to the financial restraints of being one of a very large family Ken Moroney was forced to leave school at the age of sixteen and start work. Ken, unable to settle at any one job, worked for a variety of companies until he eventually found himself working for a well-known antique business as a driver. It was whilst working with the watercolour and oil paintings stocked by the company that Ken again found his interest in art aroused and began to paint.
Ken Moroney has now been exhibiting his works for over 23 years and has built up a large clientele of private collectors, which include a number of professional art dealers. Ken also boasts private collections in Australia, Canada, France and the Middle East. He now has a studio in south London, where he paints for major exhibitors in Britain, Ireland and the United States of America. Previous exhibitions and one-man shows include Gallery Kaleidoscope, Duncan Miller Gallery, David Messum Gallery and The Kline Gallery, Canada.
