Edward Armfield
1817-1896
Little is known about Edward Armfield, but he is believed to be the younger brother of George Armfield, the well-known London painter of landscapes, dead game birds and dogs. Edward Armfield painted very similar subjects and his work is often confused with that of his brother. Typically they include one or more terriers chasing birds, cats or mice, in the style of Landseer.
